After exhausting NHS approaches to her Acne Rosacea issue, Dr Rosalind finally finds an effective treatment at Glasgow’s Ever Clinic

A Glasgow doctor who suffered from Rosacea, a long-term skin condition that causes redness, bumps and broken blood vessels on the face, has praised the highly effective laser-based treatment she was given at the city’s Ever Clinic.

Dr Rosalind Hopkins had suffered from Acne Rosacea for many years and had already used all forms of medical treatment available on the NHS for the condition.

She said: “I had a consistent redness on my nose which simply would not go away despite the wide range of treatments applied by the NHS.

“Out of sheer frustration I did some research online and found the Ever Clinic, in Glasgow’s St Vincent Place which offered laser treatment for Rosacea. So far. I have had two treatments, with one still to come next month, and the results have been remarkable.

“It has made a huge difference and while the laser treatment isn’t exactly free of any discomfort– it’s a bit like having an elastic band pinged in your face - it was not at all painful and I felt, intuitively, that it was working.

“I’m told that some patients get a slight swelling in the treated area, but there were no downsides at all for me”, she said.

Dr Cormac Convery, Co-founder and Medical Director of the award-winning Glasgow-based Ever Clinic, said: “Rosacea is a chronic condition that never goes away and the chances are it will come back but the laser treatment provides a disappearance of the unsightly redness for a considerable period of time and makes patients feel far less self-conscious and more confident.

“Following an initial assessment, a typical treatment would involve three sessions with a four-week gap between each.”

Added Dr Hopkins: “I wouldn’t go anywhere to get such treatment unless it was carried out by a highly experienced qualified medical practitioner like Dr Convery. He was an expert and reassuring presence throughout the treatment, and I would recommend him highly.”

Dr Convery is also vice-Chair of the not-for-profit Complications in Medical Aesthetics Collaborative (CMAC), which was established in 2020 to maximise safety in clinical practice.
