Hartley and Pearl had been married since 1953. As Pearl grew older, her health began to decline, and she became partially blind. The couple struggled with daily tasks, so they started receiving visits from GoodOaks Homecare to support Pearl at home. During these visits, the care professional would often go the extra mile, preparing dinner for Hartley as well, ensuring he was cared for alongside Pearl.
After some time of daily visits, their daughter decided that a care home might be the best option for both. Although the care home met Pearl’s needs, Hartley had difficulty settling there. He missed the comforts of his own home and felt increasingly unsettled. Collaborating with his daughter and keeping Hartley’s needs in mind, GoodOaks matched him with a live-in care professional, allowing him to move back home. The change was life-changing.
Now, with his live-in care professional, Hartley receives the support he needs at home and enjoys daily visits to see Pearl at her care home. He is able to stay active, live in his beloved community, and - according to his daughter - GoodOaks’ live-in care has “brought him back to life.”
GoodOaks provides quality live-in and visiting homecare, allowing clients to stay in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes.
