King Pins, who launched their first two sites in Manchester, England in summer 2023 and May 2024, has an expansion plan to open several sites in the UK over the next few years including Belfast later in 2025.
King Pins will occupy the 2nd and 3rd floor of the Keep redevelopment on Castle Lane. The Keep is a multi-million-pound project that involved the refurbishment of the former BHS building. Alterity Investments acquired the property in early 2021, which had been vacant for nearly five years following BHS's administration in 2016.
The project included a reconfiguration of the ground floor to accommodate multiple retail units and a change of use on the upper floors for leisure purposes. The Keep offers a total of 70,000 sq ft of space across four floors, featuring frontages onto Castle Lane, Castle Arcade, and Cornmarket.
King Pins have applied for a restaurant licence for its family food operation so it can serve alcohol to guests who are eating full table meals.
King Pins Belfast are seeking to open a family-friendly restaurant specialising in chicken and pizza, and which will offer to diners the possibility of partaking in a variety of games and activities suitable for the whole family, including the brand’s signature ten-pin, ice free curling, mini golf course and arcades.
Nathan McDermott, Openings Manager at King Pins, said: “King Pins Belfast will be the brand’s first venture in Northern Ireland, and we couldn’t be more excited to be part of this beautiful redevelopment. Belfast, get ready because we’re bringing the crown jewels of bowling to you in 2025!”
