On Sunday morning the service of worship was conducted by the Rev John Thomson and Rev Arthur Barrie. The choir sang the introit The Strife is o’re the Battle Won. The theme for the service was based on John’s account in his gospel of Jesus and the fishermen. After the death of Jesus some of the disciples returned to their former ways. Peter and six of the disciples decided to return to fishing. Having caught nothing they were returning to shore and it was then they saw Jesus. He told them to cast again their nets and this time their nets were filled.
They shared a breakfast of bread and fish and listened as He spoke to them Go and be Fishers of me. Jesus met them in an everyday situation and we too can know His presence in our ordinary daily lives whatever our situation. Alan Joyce read the scripture passage from John21.
