The business took home the Small Company Achievement Award and the Collaboration of the Year Award, cementing its position as an industry leader in sustainable heating innovation.
The Collaboration of the Year Award recognised Trust Electric Heating’s partnership with the University of Leeds, which transformed student accommodation heating with its NEOS electric radiator system. Since its launch in 2018, the NEOS system has addressed critical issues including rust, energy inefficiency, and lack of user control in traditional heating systems. The innovative solution, paired with a custom app-based thermostat, has cut energy consumption by over 50%, enhanced student comfort, and delivered substantial cost savings.
The award judges of the awards were particularly impressed with Trust Electric Heating’s “overall commitment to apprenticeships, expanding the company including the R&D” and commended its “clear vision”, including international expansion.
The H&V Awards, celebrating its 30th edition, is a hallmark of excellence in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) sector, recognising the industry's most innovative achievements over the past 18 months.
Established in 2014 by Scott and Fiona Conor, Trust Electric Heating has pioneered sustainable heating solutions, including the British-made NEOS electric radiator which comprises a soapstone core and patented cool-wall technology, delivering up to 59.4% savings on energy bills compared to standard electric radiators.
Growth
The modular design also extends product longevity by up to 250%, allowing users to replace individual parts or change colours without discarding the entire unit.
Since its launch, the business has experienced year-on-year growth of more than 500% and invested £2.3 million in the last 12 months into expanding its premises to increase manufacturing output and provide dedicated spaces for innovation, development, testing, and research. The business growth has come through an innovative approach to heating while supporting the UK’s net zero goals. It currently employs 52 people, up from 17 in the last six months.
Scott and Fiona’s expertise and passion have taken them global - most recently, they attended Goalshouse Climate Week event in NYC, discussing sustainability with industry leaders including Greg Jackson, CEO of Octopus Energy, Lord Alok Sharma, president of COP26 - UN Climate Change Conference, and Diana Walker from the U.S. Department of State.
Fiona Conor, managing director at Trust Electric Heating, said:“We are absolutely thrilled to receive these awards, which are a testament to the passion, innovation, and dedication of the entire Trust family to become the UK’s leading electric heating company.
“Our collaboration with the University of Leeds has been a rewarding journey, and we’re proud to see the NEOS system making such a meaningful impact on energy efficiency and student comfort. These awards, one of the biggest in our industry, celebrate not just our achievements, but the shared commitment to sustainability and innovation that drives everything we do at Trust Electric Heating.”
