Hospital ‘Easter Bunnies’ collect egg haul for children’s charity

A Birmingham-based hospital team have gone full Easter Bunny mode to set about making Easter happier for vulnerable local children. Hospital staff at Practice Plus Group Hospital, Birmingham, have donated dozens of chocolate eggs between them to donate to Father Hudson’s appeal which aims to bring a little easter joy to children in Birmingham and the West Midlands. Staff members also made crochet Easter chicks to send along with the donation.

Father Hudson’s Caritas, based in Coleshill, Birmingham, is part of a network of charities throughout the Archdiocese of Birmingham. It is a Social Care Agency which cares for the elderly, for those with learning, physical and sensory disabilities, for children and families and also provides fostering and community projects.

Samantha Doubleday, Hospital Director, Practice Plus Group Hospital Birmingham, says: “Our Head of Clinical Services, Leanne Eardley, supports and works with the Father Hudson charity throughout the year, so when we heard from her that the charity were appealing for Easter eggs to help vulnerable families, we rose to the challenge!”

“The work that Father Hudson’s does to support, guide and nurture children and their families to overcome any barriers or challenges they may face is so vital and we were happy to help. I’m proud of our hospital team for doing their best to personally donate as many chocolate eggs as they could for the cause.”
