First Shared Ownership homes hit the market in Worcester

New homes provider Bromford has unveiled the first Shared Ownership homes available for purchase at its development in Worcester.

Birch Meadow sits at the tip of the city, with the first release of terraced homes now able to be reserved.

The development offers homeowners the perfect balance between city and country living, and great transport links to the city and beyond, with the extensive road and rail networks in the county meaning the development is in the ideal for commuters and young families.

The high-quality, energy-efficient two-bedroom homes are available from £112,000 for a forty per cent share value, and are ready to move into.

Bromford Shared Ownership gives first-time buyers and those who do not currently own a property the opportunity to secure a new build home with Bromford. Homebuyers pay a mortgage on the share they own, and pay rent on the remaining share, meaning a smaller deposit is required.

Then, when the time is right, the homeowners can purchase more shares through a process called staircasing, gradually increasing the ownership of the home.

One of the newly-released homes at Birch Meadow is the Primrose, which can be secured with a deposit as low as £5,600 for a 40 per cent share value.

On plot 20, the Primrose opens up into a modern, fitted kitchen, with integrated appliances and space to manoeuvre while cooking, adjacent to the rear-facing lounge-cum-dining area which comfortably fits a dinner table, sofa, armchair, coffee table and television stand.

The living space benefits from natural light emanating through the stylish French doors, which leads out to the turfed back garden. Understairs storage and a downstairs bathroom complete the ground floor.

Upstairs is home to a main bedroom to the rear, and a slightly smaller room at the front. The spacious landing leads through to the staircase and a stylish family bathroom.

The Primrose is equipped with allocated parking, central heating and double-glazed windows, with Shared Ownership helping to make this high-quality home more accessible without the need to save for a large deposit.

Karen Adams, Sales Manager at Bromford, said: “We’re really pleased to have delivered these affordable homes for Worcester, which will go a long way to meeting the need for accessible routes onto the property ladder.

“We’ve seen a big uptick in Shared Ownership enquiries and completions, with the scheme providing an ideal bridge between either renting or living at home, and owning a property outright.

“We don’t expect the Primrose to be on the market for too long, so would encourage getting in touch with our friendly sales team to avoid missing out.”
