The honours, now in their third year, recognised Nourished’s commitment to empowering and improving the quality of life of women globally through innovative products and ways of working that set new standards in the nutrition sector.
Nourished uses patented 3D-printing technology, developed in-house, to create fully personalised and curated nutrition gummies. They help women to manage the likes of menopause, pregnancy, skin and hair health, joint health and weight loss.
Registered nutritionist Melissa Snover founded the company in 2019. It has now sold more than 53 million units and is available in the UK, US, Japan, France, Greece, Spain, Belgium and Switzerland, with products also covering health issues such as immunity, energy, sleep and stress.
It recently launched an exclusive range of products in Boots, including Collagen+ Hair, Skin & Nails and Collagen+ Agility, both of which contain Ovoderm. It is an innovative, vegetarian form of collagen that is made from egg shells, unlike most collagen which is extracted from the less sustainable sources including fish, cows and pigs.
Run by international online magazine Heath Tech World, the Health Tech World Awards honour the best examples of leadership, innovation and impact in health tech globally. Other winners, this year, include Nic Klopper, founder of hearX Group and Lexie Hearing (Health Tech Leader of the Year), brain-health experts Creyos (Health Tech Innovation), and gynaecological-health firm Daye (Company of the Year).
Melissa Snover comments: “It’s a privilege to be recognised among so many leading voices in health tech. At REM3DY Health, our mission is to redefine personalised nutrition and preventative healthcare, particularly for women, who have long been underserved in this space. This recognition is a meaningful reflection of the progress we’re making, and we remain committed to driving greater gender equality and improving health outcomes through science-led innovation.”
She is one of just ten members on the Department of Trade’s inaugural Female Founders initiative, which recognises the most promising female-led UK companies. In 2020, she set the record for the highest-ever seed-funding round by a female founder, for Nourished’s parent company Rem3dy Health.
Nourished also recently appeared in in the first ever ”Sunday Times 100 Tech: Britain's fastest-growing private technology companies” list.
