Luke Holland, from Year 8, was given the Tull Award for Learning and Progress for making ‘incredible improvements’ in his grades, his friendships and his attendance.

At the Awards Evening, Darren Turner, Executive Principal of Tudor Grange Academies Trust, said: “This reward is a testament to wanting to be better – not on a whim, but through conscious and determined change and striving every day. After a rocky start in Year 7, Luke started to accept the support that was on offer and really tried to be a better version of himself. He is an example of how with hard work, dedication and commitment you can yield improved positive outcomes in all aspects of life.”

One of the highlights of the evening was the presentation of the coveted Principal’s Award, given to Year 11 student Alex Hodgetts for his consistently high standards of working, kindness to others and willingness to learn.

Alex’s College Leader, Miss Ivery, described him as a ‘role model student’ and an ‘inspiration to all’, saying, “Alex always comes to class with a smile on his face, and embodies the Tudor Grange values of being ‘ready, respectful and responsible’. In the last academic year he received 828 positives and no negatives, and has already made a positive start to Year 11.”

Darren Turner also expressed deep pride in Tudor Grange Academy Kingshurst students, stating: “Tonight, we celebrate the incredible achievements of our students, who have shown that they are consistently ready to learn, are respectful to all and have demonstrated the responsibility needed to be successful. They are a credit to themselves, their families, and the school, and an inspiration to everyone. It is a sign of the bright future our students have ahead of them.”

“We know if our children feel motivated and successful, they will develop resilience and self-confidence and go on to lead happy, fulfilling lives,” said College Leader Gareth Evans, who organised the event. “We are grateful to all our staff, who have shown tremendous commitment to providing students with the support and opportunities they need to achieve even more in the months to come.”
