Green Meadow Primary School kicks off ‘The Biggest Ever Football Session’ with Aston Villa’s Maz Pacheco

Green Meadow Primary School in Selly Oak, part of Excelsior Multi Academy Trust, recently hosted ‘The Biggest Ever Football Session’ in partnership with M3 Football, welcoming over 100 girls from 10 schools across the region and aiming to empower the next generation of young girls through football.

Aston Villa defender, Maz Pacheco, presented certificates and trophies to girls who took part in the session.

‘The Biggest Ever Football Session’ is part of the Football Association’s (FA) #LetGirlsPlay campaign, which strives to provide equal opportunities for girls in schools and clubs across England. This nationwide initiative seeks to promote inclusivity in sports and reinforce the message that football is for everyone – girls included.

The 17 teams in attendance participated in a variety of football activities, including skill-based drills, small-sided matches and teamwork exercises, all designed to boost their confidence and enjoyment of the game. The highlight of the day was the special guest appearance of Aston Villa defender, Maz Pacheco, who inspired pupils by sharing her experiences as a professional footballer and presented certificates and trophies to the girls who took part.
