Bullring brings Brummies together for Mental Health Week, here’s what’s happening…

This Saturday, May 10, Bullring is kicking off Mental Health Awareness Week with an energetic community event combining music and movement, with fundraising all in support of Birmingham Mind.

DrumnBounce-athon

From 10am to 3.30pm, Drum n Bounce and Dubstretch Fitness will be stationed outside M&S on the Bullring’s ground floor, with founder Emma Smallman leading workouts to fundraise for  Birminghm Mind. Expect high-energy workouts set to drum & bass beats, with a buzzing atmosphere and a focus on connection, positivity and most importantly, mental wellbeing.

Whether you're taking on the challenge, dropping in for a session or simply cheering from the sidelines, the aim is to raise awareness and funds for vital mental health services in the city. All proceeds of the day will go directly to Birmingham Mind, who provide support, crisis care and wellbeing resources to those in need across the region.

Danielle Bozward, Marketing and Placemaking Manager at the Bullring expressed her passion for the event: “We know how important it is to create spaces where our visitors feel seen, supported and connected. Mental health affects us all, and we’re proud to not only house a Mind Hub in Link Street, but we’re also working alongside the charity and local community champions like Drum n Bounce to bring awareness right into the heart of the city.

"We hope this event inspires our shoppers to get involved, that it starts conversations, and we show our full support for a cause that touches so many lives.”

Participants can sign up to take part in one or more of the sessions, or join as fundraisers powering through all ten of the workouts. Donations are welcome online or can be given in person on the day.

Bullrings hosting of the event is part of its broader commitment the centre has to the communities wellbeing. The centre is home to the Mind Hub on Link Street, a dedicated space offering information, signposting and a calm environment for those looking for mental health support.

If you’re interested in taking part for fundraising, fancy a new style of workout or simply want to cheer on participants, please visit the Bullring website or stop by this Saturday!
