This marks the second significant milestone for the company, following a delegated approval in January for 31 homes in the nearby village of Cromhall.
Together, these two developments will deliver 16 much-needed affordable homes, helping to meet local demand while offering residents high-quality, energy-efficient homes that blend seamlessly with their surroundings.
The Rangeworthy application received strong support from planning officers, whose detailed understanding of the scheme and confidence in its benefits were clear throughout the committee debate.
“It’s not always the case that officers demonstrate such in-depth knowledge and conviction during committee meetings, and we commend the team for the clarity and professionalism they brought to the process,” said James Durant, Head of the Land department at Cotswold Homes.
Both the Rangeworthy and Cromhall developments will feature a traditional aesthetic using natural Pennant stone, ensuring the homes are in keeping with the rural character of the area. In addition to high build quality, Cotswold Homes will also set a strong example in sustainable construction, with features including air source heat pumps, photovoltaic panels, and high levels of insulation to reduce carbon footprints and support energy efficiency.
James added: “We're now looking forward to concluding the legal agreements, obtaining formal consents, and acquiring these sites. Both schemes are excellent additions to our short-term pipeline and reflect our commitment to delivering homes that feature traditional craftsmanship.”
Cotswold Homes continues to grow its reputation across South Gloucestershire and Wiltshire for creating well-considered, attractive, and sustainable communities.
