Ricardo Sequeira brings more than two decades of experience to the firm, having led complex projects across high-rise residential and commercial developments, and is a chartered member of the Institution of Structural Engineers.
His expertise includes large-scale refurbishments, intricate substructures, and projects involving historic or sensitive infrastructure – skills that are particularly valuable in the region’s diverse built environment.
Based at the firm’s city-centre office in Bristol, Ricardo will oversee project delivery from feasibility through to completion, ensuring technical excellence and efficiency. He will also play a key role in client engagement and business development, further expanding the firm’s footprint in the region.
Ricardo said: “Pick Everard has an excellent reputation for delivering quality projects across the UK, and I’m pleased to be a part of the team leading our structural engineering presence in the South West.
“This region offers significant opportunities, not just in Bristol but across the wider area into South Wales and Somerset. Our local presence, combined with our national expertise will enable us to provide tailored support to clients while delivering projects efficiently.
“Mentoring engineers to achieve their potential, fostering strong client relationships and driving projects forward are what I thrive in, and I’m looking forward to developing my role in the business.”
Pick Everard’s structural engineering capability is supported by a national team of more than 70 structural engineers, working collaboratively across the firm’s 13 UK offices. This extensive resource allows the Bristol team to scale up project support when required, ensuring clients benefit from both local expertise and the strength of a larger network.
Andy Gotts, director at Pick Everard, said: “Ricardo's technical expertise, leadership experience, and established relationships within the industry make him a strong addition to the team. With a deep understanding of the area, his appointment allows us to better serve our diverse clients and build on the momentum we’ve already established in the region.”
With the South West continuing to see significant construction activity, including major developments in city centres and regeneration projects across the wider region, Pick Everard’s enhanced structural engineering offering will provide much-needed expertise for both new builds and refurbishment schemes.
Ricardo’s appointment will strengthen the firm’s ability to deliver multi-disciplinary projects, ensuring clients benefit from a collaborative approach that integrates structural, civil, and building services alongside project and cost management.
