The MOLE Clinic makes waves with Bristol Inland Surf Destination Partnership

Specialist Screening Nurses from The MOLE Clinic, the only UK private clinic group dedicated to skin cancer screening, visited Bristol-based UK inland surf destination, The Wave, to provide mole checks for the community and staff members, as part of a new national initiative to promote early detection.

The destination was amongst the first of many outdoor sports associations that The MOLE Clinic has joined forces with to raise awareness of the importance of regular screening, to help improve UK survival rates.

Across the course of the 2-day event, Bristol’s highly-trained Screening Nurses performed Full Body Skin Checks and Single Mole Checks on a range of male and female surf-enthusiasts. The community seized the opportunity, with the nurses reaching maximum capacity on both days.

Emma Jones, Marketing Director at The MOLE Clinic explains; “The MOLE Clinic’s mission remains to help lower the UK skin cancer mortality rate by detecting skin cancers early, and by partnering with well-established outdoor sports associations such as The Wave, we are amplifying this message to groups that are subject to higher levels of UV exposure.

“As part of our mission to help lower the UK skin cancer mortality rate by detecting skin cancers early, we are delighted to be partnering with The Wave, Bristol, to propel this message via our community Skin Cancer Screening Programme.

“Throughout the ongoing campaign, our Screening Nurses will be setting out to a range of different outdoor sports associations and clubs across the UK, to raise awareness for early detection, and provide teams and wider communities with peace of mind.

“We are delighted to have rounded off a positive two-day Skin Cancer Screening sessions for the community and staff at The Wave, offering complimentary Single Mole Checks and Full Body Skin Checks for a whole host of surfers.”

Chloe Hughes, Marketing Manager at The Wave states; “It was great to have The Mole Clinic team with us.

“Our staff really took advantage of the service, which is especially important because we have many of our team members working in predominantly outdoor roles.

“Having the Mole Clinic visible on-site sparked conversations throughout the two days with both our team members and customers about staying safe in the sun and getting regular mole checks.

“As a business that promotes outdoor activities and their benefits, it's great for us to have these conversations and raise awareness.”

For 21 years, The MOLE Clinic has been supporting its patients with early detection of skin cancer and mole removal, with over 35,000 people every year visiting its clinics in London (3 locations: Harley Street, Oxford Circus and Moorgate), Manchester, Bristol, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

The brand’s mission is to help lower the UK skin cancer mortality rate by detecting skin cancer early. This is achieved by developing innovative, highest quality screening services and making those services widely available and easily accessible to the UK public and NHS GPs.
