Community choir High Peak Singers raise £440 for Blythe House Hospice at their recent concert

Local community choir High Peak Singers performed their winter concert "Glow", directed by Hannah Brine, at All Saints Church, Glossop on Saturday 7th December.

They raised £440 for Blythe House Hospice, a local charity providing support for patients and families affected by cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.

As well as an appreciative audience, High Peak Singers were delighted to welcome Deputy Mayor of High Peak Councillor Dom Elliott-Starkey and Chloe Thelwell from Blythe House Hospice.

Blythe House Hospice adds quality to life by providing the highest levels of care for people in North Derbyshire who are affected by life-limiting illnesses, and High Peak Singers is delighted to be supporting them this year.

Blythe House Hospice said “We would like to say a huge thank you to High Peak Singers for having us at their Winter Concert on Saturday 7th December. Not only did we have a fantastic evening listening to some beautiful voices in the choir, they managed to raise an amazing £440.00. This money will make a difference and help us to continue to provide free care and support to patients and their families living in North Derbyshire.”

Hannah Brine said "This was the third winter concert for High Peak Singers and I am loving working with the choir, as they just keep on getting better and better! It was so nice the Deputy Mayor of High Peak Councillor Dom Elliott-Starkey could also attend, and our audience was so enthusiastic.  We welcome anyone interested in trying out to choir to come along to the start of our spring term on January 20th.”
