Indian-inspired Cheltenham restaurant launches interactive ‘Supper Club’ to bring guests closer to its food’s origins

A fine dining Cheltenham restaurant is launching a series of interactive dining events designed to offer guests a more social and engaging way to experience its dishes – with the first event selling out within hours.

Indian-inspired Cheltenham restaurant launches interactive ‘Supper Club’.

The new Supper Club, which will run monthly, will feature a five-course menu curated by  Prithvi Head Chef, Thomas Law, showcasing signature plates as well as exclusive, off-menu dishes. Guests will be seated at long communal tables, encouraging conversation and a shared experience, with Thomas introducing the courses and engaging with diners.

The event follows the success of other themed dining events hosted at the restaurant, including a wine pairing evening with prestigious French winemaker Jean Frederic Hügel and a sold-out cookbook launch event.

Sharing his thoughts on the initiative, Thomas said: “At Prithvi, we’ve always believed that good food is more than just something we eat – it’s a way to connect. Supper Club will be a chance for diners to try something different, not only with the dishes themselves but in the way we come together around the table. I’m excited to welcome our guests to a new era of dining at the restaurant. This will be another great way to engage with our local community.”

Aiming to create a social atmosphere, the event offers an opportunity to explore a different style of dining from the restaurant’s usual service – reflecting Prithvi’s ongoing commitment to offering fresh and creative high-quality dining options.

Prithvi owner Jay Rahman also expressed his excitement for the sell-out success, saying: “We’re absolutely thrilled that the first evening has sold out so quickly. It’s a true testament to the strong sense of community and support we’ve built at Prithvi. Our team has worked hard to curate a unique dining experience that brings people together and it’s brilliant to see such a positive response.”

Prithvi offers a fresh take on Indian cuisine, blending tradition with innovation. With a focus on getting the best out of locally sourced produce, the restaurant’s signature dishes reinterpret classic flavours through a modern lens.

The launch of the Supper Club also coincides with the opening of Jai Ho, a recent venture from JM Socials in Bishops Cleeve, at Dunkertons. Bringing bold Indian flavours to a relaxed and rustic setting, Jai Ho adds another exciting dimension to the region's vibrant food scene.

Speaking on the opening, Jay said: “It’s been fantastic to see how warmly Jai Ho has been received. The response so far has been incredibly encouraging, and we’re excited to be bringing our take on Indian cuisine to such a brilliant location. We’re passionate about creating food that people connect with, and we look forward to sharing that with even more guests through Jai Ho.”

The first Supper Club on Monday, 28th April is now fully booked, but there are limited spaces available for the upcoming dates of 26th May and 20th June at 7pm. The set menu is priced at £55 per person.
