Paddington Bear to swap darkest Peru for Gulliver’s World!

Gulliver’s World is thrilled to announce that Paddington Bear, one of the most iconic children’s literary characters of all time, will be making a very special visit to the theme park next month.

Gulliver's World

Paddington, famous for his marmalade sandwiches, battered suitcase, duffel coat and hat, will be at the Warrington theme park on June 7 & 8, appearing at intervals during the weekend.

The loveable, friendly bear from ‘darkest Peru’ first appeared in the 1958 book A Bear Called Paddington by author Michael Bond, going on to feature in 29 books, and of course star in TV shows and movies.

Craig Clews, resort director at Gulliver’s World, said: “What an honour it is for us to host Paddington. He remains such an incredibly popular character, particularly now with the three recent hit movies, which have further strengthened his enduring appeal. But he will be with us for just one weekend only, so fans will want to make sure they don’t miss out!”

Tickets for the magical Paddington weekend start from £25 per person per day, if booked more than two days in advance, with free entry for children under 90cms in height.

Once inside Gulliver’s World, there is so much to enjoy, including the new Land of Oz-themed area, which features two exciting new rides and a new attraction that defies gravity!

Families will be able to follow the yellow brick road to visit the Upside Down House, ride in a Munchkin Motor, and fly high with the Winged Monkeys. The Upside Down House is a dazzling attraction that turns everything completely on its head – an interactive experience for children and adults, where visitors can touch anything within their reach, and receive a gravity-defying photo of their adventure.

There are more than 50 rides, attractions, shows and activities at Gulliver’s World, including The Pirate Ship, Desperado Drop, and animatronic dinosaurs, along with Gulliver’s Gears – a car-themed area with two exciting rides: the Grand Prix Racers rollercoaster, and Overdrive, a 360-degree thrill and one of Gulliver’s most daring rides.

If you are planning a visit to Gulliver’s World to meet Paddington and take in a few rides, why not make it a special occasion by making it a weekend stay. The theme park has a range of accommodation available, including the onsite hotel, housing Unicorn, Cowboy, Sweetie and Pirate-themed rooms, and themed dens, lodges, and tipis in the Wilderness Wharf.
