Colleagues at Specsavers on Stenson Road have been appealing for brand-new toys to donate to the children who will spend Christmas on the ward. The team collected an impressive 150 items, including soft teddies, cars, colouring books, craft supplies and much more.
The toys were delivered to the hospital on Wednesday 18 December, ready for the children to open on Christmas Day.
‘In the true spirit of Christmas, we wanted to spread some joy to the children and families in hospital at the moment,’ Paresh Gohil, store director at Specsavers Normanton, says. ‘Hopefully, thanks to everyone’s generosity, we’re able to put a smile on the faces of those unable to spend the festive period at home.
‘It was fantastic to receive so many donations and we really hope it makes a difference. The support we’ve had from our customers and the local community has been amazing and we’d like to say a huge thank you to every single person who donated and helped us collect as many toys as possible.’
