Grand reopening of Alice House Hospice’s Headland Shop on Northgate

Alice House Hospice is delighted to announce the grand re-opening of its Northgate shop on Thursday, May 22, 9.30am. The much-loved store has undergone its first-ever full refit, giving the space a fresh new look and improved shopping experience for the local community.

Albert Spence, one of the Hospice’s Shop Managers, helping to prepare the shop for it’s re-opening.

Shoppers can expect high-quality new and pre-loved goods at fantastic prices, with all proceeds going directly to support local Hospice care.

Dedicated retail staff and volunteers would like to extend heartfelt thanks to everyone who has donated items and provided help and support throughout the refurbishment process.

Karen Witherley, the Hospice’s Retail Senior Manager at Alice House, said: "We’re excited to welcome everyone back to our newly refurbished shop. The support we’ve had from the community has been incredible and we can’t wait for people to see the changes. Every item sold helps to fund the vital care Alice House provides to local families."

Alice House Hospice has nine charity shops throughout Hartlepool and East Durham; the shops are always in need of good quality donations and new volunteers to help continue this essential work.

Alice House Hospice provides care and support to patients and families affected by life limiting illness, or the death of a loved one in Hartlepool, Tees Valley and East Durham.

It costs over £3.6m to fund these services for one year; the Hospice receives just over 25% of this in Government funding, leaving a shortfall of over £7,000 to be raised every single day.
