The Kings Highway in Derby is now open!

The King’s Highway Pub reveals a brand-new look after a significant £325,000 refurbishment, following its reopening on the 25th April. The popular local venue has been closed since 31st March for the revamp, which will introduce two distinct areas designed to cater to a variety of social needs.

The refreshed layout will feature a lively, sports-friendly bar for those looking to catch the latest games and a comfortable, cosy family lounge perfect for enjoying a meal with loved ones. The two areas will be separated by a central partition, offering guests a tailored experience that ensures both relaxation and entertainment under one roof.

Mackworth councillors Gaurav Pandey and Michael Walsh, both familiar faces at the pub and champions of the local community, were proud to be named community heroes for the newly reopened pub. They pulled the first pint to mark the pub’s opening and were thrilled with the transformation and keen to support it as a welcoming hub for residents.

Sports fans can look forward to catching the action on 4k screens throughout the pub, with Sky Sports and TNT coverage of all the big games. And with exciting offers like ‘Prosecco Fridays’ (a bottle for £14.99) and ‘Pie Mondays’ (a pie and drink for just £13.25), there’s always something to enjoy at The King’s Highway.

Conveniently located near Kingsway Retail Park, The King’s Highway provides the perfect setting to unwind before or after a shopping spree with family and friends.

Guests can still enjoy the pub’s renowned menu, which features favourites such as the Katsu Chicken Burger, Beef Lasagne, and Fish & Chips, as well as a range of options for both adults and children.

The pub boasts a 35-bedroom hotel and 2 meeting rooms, the hotel is right next door to the pub.

Steve Richards, General Manager, shared: “We’re incredibly excited to be unveiling the new look of The King’s Highway. The refurbishment is all about creating a welcoming space for our community to come together and enjoy good food, great drinks, and fantastic company, whatever the occasion. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back and show off the exciting changes we’ve made to make this pub even better.”
