Coun Bullock (Brox All) was installed as the 49th Mayor of Broxtowe at the council's annual meeting on May 14.
Coun Bullock, who represents Eastwood Hall on the council, started out by serving two terms as a councillor on Greasley Council during the 1990s.
He was elected to Eastwood Town Council in 2019 and in May 2023 was elected to Broxtowe Council.
Throughout his career, Coun Bullock has been deeply involved in the local community.
He has served in various capacities, including as a school governor, trustee, and treasurer of the Eastwood Volunteer Bureau.
His passion for preserving local heritage is evident through his role as trustee and treasurer of The Friends of the Cromford Canal.
Currently, he continues his community service as a trustee of Eastwood Age Concern.
He will be raising funds for Broxtowe Women’s Project and The Brain Tumour Charity, causes that are close to his heart, throughout his mayoral year.
He said: "I’m really looking forward to taking on the role of mayor.
"I’m keen to get out and about, meeting the diverse and wonderful people who make up our borough."
Coun Bullock takes over as mayor from Coun Sue Paterson (Brox All), following her successful year in office which saw her undertake 256 engagements and raised more than £14,000 for The Helpful Bureau.
Coun Barbara Carr (Brox Ind), who represents Beeston North, will assist Coun Bullock as the deputy mayor.
