He will take as his starting-point the oldest known map of Ilkeston, dated 1598, and traces a journey from one end of the manor to the other, to discover what everyday life was like for the inhabitants of a typical 16th century township.
The talk is on March 6 at 7.30pm at Kimberley School Community Room, Newdigate Street, accessed from the driveway to Kimberley Sports Centre.
There is plenty of parking almost opposite.
Visitors are welcome; entry fees are £4 towards expenses.
