North Berwick to welcome iconic folk duo

Following the huge success of their sold-out events in North Berwick, organisers from Live At The Law have announced that they are bringing two of Scotland’s most loved musicians to the seaside town.

Fiddler Chris Stout and singer songwriter Kris Drever

Kris Drever and Chris Stout are icons of the Scottish music scene. Both originally hailing from the Northern Isles (Kris from Orkney and Chris from Shetland) they represent the strength of those identities in the music they inhabit.

Finding themselves neighbours in Glasgow in 2019, the pair became firm friends and are excited to embark on a UK wide tour which kicks off in February.

Jonnie Williams, Event Organiser for Live At The Law said: “We’re delighted to welcome Kris and Chris to the Scout Hall on Friday, March 7. I’m a huge fan of both musicians, and it’ll be sure to be yet another sell-out following the success of our first events with Adam Holmes, and Kathryn Williams and Withered Hand.

"The team initially set out to bring world class talent to our wee town, and this is a shining example of that. We can’t wait!”

Kris is a guitarist, singer and founder member of the trio ‘Lau’. The multi award winning singer songwriter has played and written with a galaxy of stars - Eddi Reader, Roddy Woomble, Mark Knopfler, Kate Rusby, Jack Bruce, Karine Polwart to name but a few.

Chris is a virtuoso violinist, viola player and composer, founder member of the legendary Shetland band ‘Fiddlers Bid’, and long-time collaborator of harpist Catriona McKay. He has performed in venues as storied as the Sydney Opera House and has composed for and performed with The Royal Scottish National Orchestra, The Russian Philharmonic Orchestra, The Trondheim Symphony Orchestra and a great many more.
