The event was promoted heavily in the local area by Bolton at Home’s Farnworth Focus team, who distributed their quarterly newsletter to over 800 homes in the run up to the drop-in day.
People attending the event were entered into a prize draw, with the chance to win a £50 shopping voucher, while as the session was winding down, Bolton at Home kindly provided delicious pasties for everyone there.
Bolton at Home’s Community Engagement Manager, Paula Rowson said: "The Farnworth Focus Team Community Drop-in at Farnworth Leisure Centre was a great success, showcasing the extensive community support offered by Bolton at Home and our partners.
“Farnworth residents discovered valuable resources and services available to them right on their doorstep. Thanks to the venue's generous provision of free space, we were able to connect meaningfully with residents and provide information about housing support, wellbeing services, and local initiatives”

Also in attendance on the day were local councillors, Sylvia Crossley and Paul Sanders.
Paul commented: "Well done to all involved in organising this successful event. It was great to see so many local people in attendance, and highlighted the huge amount of support and cross-agency work that goes on locally to help and engage our residents. This event also provided a brilliant opportunity to showcase the excellent facilities at Farnworth Leisure Centre, which received a major upgrade in 2023.”
Steve Little, Healthy Life Manager for Bolton Community Leisure Trust (BCLT), which manages the centre, said: “Thank you to the Bolton at Home team for selecting Farnworth Leisure Centre as the venue for this drop-in day. The range of support services on offer was excellent, covering health, financial guidance, neighbourhood safety education and volunteering. I spoke to many of the people who attended, and feedback was all super positive.”
