When Maggie and Gordon first met in the 70’s, when they danced to Rod Stewart songs. They are still very much in love, but now Maggie is feeling foggy and some days the songs are all she can remember.
Their struggles to hide the illness from the family, despite the visual clues of a sea of reminder Post-it notes around the house, make for some black comedy as well as some lump-in -the-throat moments.
Director Nicola Reynolds says, ‘Audiences can expect a beautiful and highly emotive play with superb performances by this wonderful cast. I feel fortunate to have been working with them over many weeks. We’ve all been aware that to portray Maggie and Gordon and their family is a big responsibility and we’ve tried to honour their story, both negative and positive, sometimes sad but at times very funny. We are looking forward to our audiences joining us on this journey, which tries to make sense of a story that effects many families nowadays. It’s a tribute to a family’s ability to cope with love and dedication’.
