Cala Homes has unveiled a new showhome at its Barden Croft development in Tonbridge, which has been decorated with a selection of thoughtfully sourced items from local suppliers in the area.

As part of Cala’s Showhome of Support initiative, the housebuilder has partnered with independent retailers in the area to furnish the showhome with locally produced items. This initiative aims to infuse Kent's unique charm into the home as well as support local businesses, with each item clearly signposted to highlight where it originated from.

The showhome at Barden Croft captures the essence of Kent’s fragrances, with a beautifully handcrafted three-wick candle from Gatehouse, scented with Sandalwood and Black Pepper, as well as a Pure Peace Reed Diffuser by Karen Alexandra, offering a traditional English Rose scent.

The gorgeous aromas continue throughout the home with The Kentish Soap Company’s Soap Bar from Carr & Westley, featuring a fragrant blend of Rose Geranium and Palmerosa, made with natural essential oils.

In the kitchen, visitors are greeted with an array of treats from local producers. These include Greensand Ridge’s premium Raspberry Ghost Dry Gin, which encapsulates the rich flavour of Kentish raspberries, and Kent Dry Gin from Anno, which incorporates botanical flavours synonymous with the idyllic Kent countryside. Visitors can also find a 2013 Vintage Reserve Brut Half Bottle from Digby Fine English, and Pilgrims Raspberry Jam from Groombridge Farm Shop, a Gold Award winner at the 2005 Taste Awards.

The showhome also features bespoke creations from talented local artists. Notable pieces include a hand-illustrated cushion cover from Debbie Draws Maps, showcasing a map of Kent with the artist’s favorite local landmarks, as well as an illustrated print of Tonbridge Castle by Imogen Partridge, and a charming Tonbridge-themed mug, also by Debbie Draws Maps.

The showhome’s interior were designed by Haus Interiors, which has collaborated with Cala Homes on multiple projects.

Adele Hughes, interior stylist at Haus Interiors, commented: "It’s always a privilege to work with Cala on their Showhome of Support initiative. For each development, we carefully select locally sourced items to reflect the character of the area and bring it to life within our designs.

“From calming scents to delicious local treats, every item has been chosen to showcase the incredible range of products created by the community."

Nestled in the picturesque Kent countryside, Barden Croft offers 75 private homes ranging from 2- to 5-bedroom properties. Located just north of Tunbridge Wells in the desirable market town of Tonbridge, the development boasts excellent transport links, top-rated schools, and an abundance of local amenities within walking distance.
