Concerns raised over potential job cuts at Leven factory

Wendy Chamberlain, MP for North East Fife, has raised concerns over GMM Pfaudler Factory in Leven cutting two-thirds of their workforce.

Chamberlain raises concerns over potential job cuts in Leven factory.

GMM Pfaudler is a historic factory in Leven which supplies a range of products and services to the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. The firm informed staff last week that it intends to reduce its workforce by two-thirds. This would see the number of employees reduced from 57 to just 19.

Responding to the announcement, Chamberlain said: “The GMM Pfaudler site has been in operation for over two hundred years, with a long heritage in the area.

“I’m extremely concerned to hear the reports that there will be further reductions in the workforce at the site.

“I’ll be seeking an urgent meeting with management to understand the reasons for this announcement and what, if anything, can be done to ameliorate it.

“I urge any constituents affected to please get in touch with me to further discuss it.”
