Bakkavor colleagues at Sutton Bridge hit bull's eye in fundraiser for Macmillan Cancer Support

Who said raising money for important local charities can’t be fun? More than 70 people from Bakkavor Meals Sutton Bridge and members of the local community have recently hit the dart boards and pool tables to raise money for MacMillan Cancer Support.

MacMillan Cancer Support has been chosen by colleagues at Bakkavor Meals as their 2025 Charity of the Year for Sutton Bridge - an accolade which results in a range of fundraising and volunteering initiatives throughout the year to help the charity – plus awareness raising of the charity’s work within the business.

Clare Barratt, Technical Manager at Bakkavor Meals Sutton Bridge: “Bakkavor is first and foremost a people business and this extends to supporting community projects through the year. After a hard day’s work, I am delighted that so many of our local colleagues gave up their free time to raise money for MacMillan Cancer Support.

Everyone had a lot of fun during the pool and darts competitions. We may not have uncovered the next world champion but the team’s collective effort to help raise £654 to support the charity’s vital work in the community is something we’re all proud to be associated with.”

Jamie Scott-Hook, landlord at ‘The Anchor’ adds: “I was delighted to host this event for such an important charity. Bakkavor were a pleasure to work with, the turnout from Sutton Bridge colleagues was so impressive and it was a special evening, when everyone came together to raise money for MacMillan Cancer Support.”
