Founded by business strategist and educator Milena Jurasz-Cruz, El Recreo Spanish is more than just a language school, it’s a movement. With roots in South East London, the franchise empowers bilingual women, to start their own local Spanish language businesses teaching children through songs, games, and cultural storytelling.

Milena, who started the first classes inspired by her daughter’s bilingual journey, saw a gap in the market, and a bigger need in the community. “So many women in our community have professional backgrounds and a passion for teaching or culture, but lack access to flexible business opportunities they can lead on their own terms,” says Milena.

The franchise offers full training, curriculum, and mentoring, allowing women to launch classes in their own boroughs, from Greenwich to Croydon and Bournemouth with minimal startup costs. The goal? To create micro-businesses led by mums who want to share their heritage while supporting their families financially.

With over eight years of experience in the bilingual education space, El Recreo Spanish has now expanded into multiple UK cities, creating a network of franchisees who support one another while serving hundreds of families.

In a time when work-life balance, cultural connection, and entrepreneurship are more important than ever, Milena's model is giving women not just the tools to succeed, but the confidence to lead.
