Drivers in Harrow to benefit from even faster charging at expanded InstaVolt hub

Drivers stopping at InstaVolt’s South Harrow hub will benefit from even faster charging and more charging points following an upgrade and expansion to the site.

Perfectly placed for short stops, the South Harrow McDonald’s offers drivers access to food, drink, restrooms and a comfortable waiting area while their vehicles recharge.

The upgrade has seen the four existing chargers updated to the leading ultra-rapid charging network’s newer 160 kWh model, with a further two chargers installed, all as part of InstaVolt’s commitment to delivering dependable, accessible charging where it’s needed most.

The site is open 24/7 and supports contactless payment, meaning drivers can easily charge at any time without the need for subscriptions or apps.

“Our goal is to make charging as convenient as possible, and our partnership with McDonald’s is a great example of that,” said Simon Smith, Chief Commercial Officer at InstaVolt.

“Upgrading our South Harrow site means EV drivers can enjoy faster charging at a familiar location, with food, drink, and facilities available while they wait.”

Beyond McDonald’s, the Shaftesbury Circle area boasts a range of local amenities, including independent shops, cafés, and essential services that benefit from increased footfall as EV drivers stop and charge.

It’s another example of how InstaVolt hubs can support local economies and make EV ownership more practical for city dwellers and commuters alike.

This upgrade supports the capital’s growing EV population and plays a part in wider government efforts to reduce emissions and reach Net Zero. With over 2,000 chargers installed across the UK and hundreds currently in development, InstaVolt is helping to power the shift to cleaner transport.
