The nights may be getting shorter, but if you’re looking for some brightness to help you through the end of winter, head to Coventry Street. The West End street is being lit up with over 30,000 LED bulbs and a fun aerial display to celebrate Ramadan.
This year will be the third annual display of Ramadan lights in London, and will light up gloomy London nights from February 28 until March 29, 5pm to 5am. The display is apparently inspired by ‘Islamic geometric patterns and the celestial symbols of Ramadan’, and when Ramadan, reflect the rhythm of the Suhoor and Iftar meals eaten during the holy month. ends on March 30 the lights will change to display a ‘Happy Eid’ message that will continue glowing for the rest of that week, including crazy neon signs that add a vibrant touch to the celebrations. The Eid display will shine until the evening of April 6, ensuring the spirit of togetherness continues, marking the joyful transition from fasting to celebration.
In 2023, Coventry Street made history by becoming the first place in Western Europe to display aerial Ramadan lights.
The annual celebration continues to stand as a global symbol of diversity, unity, and interfaith harmony.
This year, London's Ramadan display will commemorate the Aziz Foundation's 10th anniversary, and it’ll boast more than just lights. Visitors can also participate in the fun this year with a button in Leicester Square that send beams of light representing the ‘spirit of Ramadan’ soaring into the sky (This installation will be in place until April 1).
In 2025, a new feature called the ‘Spread The Light’ interactive display will be added to Leicester Square.
London foodies will be happy to hear that an Iftar Food Trail curated Halal-friendly will be running until March 30th, featuring discounts, freebies, and Ramadan specials across several food spots including 1 Leicester Square at Hotel Indigo, Franco’s, Americana London, Farzi London, Shake Shack, and Bone Daddies and many more.

An interactive online map will help visitors find nearby prayer spaces, making it easier to break fast and pray while enjoying the celebrations.
To extend the fun beyond the West End, a ‘Spread The Light’ lantern pattern will be available for download on the Ramadan Lights London website.
Families and individuals can print, decorate, and share their lanterns, decoration, neon signs on social media, spreading the spirit of Ramadan across the UK and beyond.
The new 2025 website is scheduled to go live on February 17, bringing updated features, fresh content, and an improved user experience.
