Over two days, attendees were treated to a dazzling display of rare minerals, stunning gemstones, and ancient fossils, solidifying the event's reputation as a world-class celebration of geology and craftsmanship.
A Showcase of Global Talent and Treasures
This year’s event highlighted its international appeal, with exhibitors and visitors from countries including Australia, Pakistan, and Brazil. Among the star attractions was The Art of Opal, an exclusive collection presented by Isaac Andreou of Outback Opal Hunters. For the first time, collectors had the rare opportunity to purchase pieces from this family-held collection, which has been cherished for over six decades.
Record-Breaking Attendance
The show’s popularity reached new heights, with a 35% increase in attendance compared to last year. On just one day, footfall matched the total weekend attendance of the previous year, underscoring the growing fascination with Earth's geological treasures.
Interactive Experiences and Expert Insights
Beyond the exhibits, the event offered hands-on activities and expert-led workshops. Visitors of all ages participated in geode cracking, gemstone crafting, and mineral identification. Meanwhile, keynote speakers like Jolyon Ralph and Sarah Caldwell Steele enthralled audiences with talks on topics ranging from mineral databases to the rich history of Whitby Jet.
A Platform for Education and Advocacy
The show also embraced its humanitarian mission by partnering with the Kimbilio Congo Children Trust, raising funds to support child miners in the Democratic Republic of Congo. “Our goal is to make a positive impact both in education and in the lives of those most in need,” said founder Alix Bramwell.
