For the first time, students who have completed a BTEC or CTEC Level 3 in Business or Financial studies, alongside two A-Levels in specified subjects, will be eligible to apply. Previously, ESCP required at least three A-Levels, meaning this change broadens access for students pursuing vocational pathways.
This decision reinforces ESCP’s commitment to diversity and inclusivity, allowing more high-achieving candidates with strong business acumen, developed through applied learning, to access world-class business education.
Kamran Razmdoost, Dean of ESCP Business School, London campus, said: “By expanding our entry criteria, we are recognising the strength of vocational qualifications in preparing students for business careers. BTEC and CTEC students bring real-world problem-solving skills, adaptability and industry knowledge which are qualities highly valued by employers and recognised in our programme learning goals.”
Ling Zhang, Academic Director for the BSc in Management at ESCP Business School, London campus, said: “This expansion of entry requirements reflects our belief in the value of diverse educational backgrounds. We are excited to welcome BTEC and CTEC students to apply, as their practical knowledge and hands-on experience in business are an excellent foundation for success in our rigorous academic environment. At ESCP, we aim to provide a platform for all high-achieving students, regardless of their route, to thrive and contribute to the global business community.”
The change has also been welcomed by those working to advise students on higher education choices. David Hawkins, Director & Founder of The University Guys, added: "The BTEC qualification is distinctive in its practical, skills-focused approach. Some universities do not recognise BTECs as valid qualifications for progressing to higher education, however the practical focus of these qualifications can be a good match for business-oriented programmes like ESCPs."
To support applicants, ESCP will participate in school fairs, UCAS events, and roadshows across the UK this spring, including:
- The University Guys West London & Beyond Roadshow (visiting 16 schools including Eton College, Bradfield College, Wycombe Abbey School, and DLD College London)
- UCAS Fairs in Manchester, London, and Birmingham
- Individual school visits including Dulwich College, German School London, and Cheltenham Ladies’ College
ESCP also extends an invitation to prospective students and their families to visit its London campus for tours and informative sessions, which are held throughout the year. These visits provide an invaluable opportunity to experience the ESCP learning environment firsthand and gain detailed insights into the BSc in Management programme.
