Bing, and his carer Flop visited and helped the children with their NSPCC Childhood Day Mile fundraising activities. Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery was selected at random in a prize draw from the nursery and early years providers that signed up to take part in the Childhood Day Mile.

Childhood Day celebrates childhood and raises awareness of the NSPCC’s life-changing services including the NSPCC Helpline, Childline and its Schools Service programme, Speak Out Stay Safe. Schools and nurseries across the country have signed up to take part by dancing, skipping and jumping to move a mile in any way they want. NSPCC volunteers and staff will also be holding activities in shopping centres, workplaces and communities across the UK.

Nursery Manager, Yemi Ladejobi, said "The children were very excited about the meet and greet with the characters and really enjoyed taking part in the sponsored activities for the Childhood Day Mile."

This is the fourth year running that Acamar Films, who produce and distribute the pre-school animation, have supported the NSPCC’s schools and nurseries Childhood Day Mile.

Participating nurseries have also received Bing stickers and Bing activity sheets with suggestions on how pre-schoolers can move their mile.

Laura Clarke, Executive Director at Acamar Films said “At Acamar Films, we are passionate about celebrating the experiences that shape early childhood. Childhood Day is a wonderful way to bring communities together while making a meaningful impact on children’s lives across the UK.”

Katie Fudge, NSPCC Schools Fundraising Development Manager, said: “We have been thrilled to be partnering again with Bing.” Bing’s dedication to early childhood development makes it the perfect partner for Childhood Day.

“Thank you to Acamar Films for their support for Childhood Day and everyone who has taken part in the mile and activities throughout the day!”
