Uganda Airlines Launches direct flights to Entebbe from Gatwick after 10 year absence

After nearly a decade’s absence, direct flights between the United Kingdom and Uganda are being reintroduced with the launch of Uganda Airlines’ new four-times-weekly service between London Gatwick and Entebbe. Operated by the Airbus A330-800neo—making its debut landing at Gatwick—this marks an exciting milestone for aviation and travel in the region.

Uganda Airlines is proud to announce the launch of its new direct service between London Gatwick Airport and Entebbe International Airport, commencing 18th May 2025. Operating four times a week, this route offers UK travellers a seamless gateway to one of Africa’s most thrilling and biodiverse tourism destinations.

This 9 hour 30-minute service invites adventurers, wildlife lovers, and eco-tourists to explore Uganda’s rich natural heritage, from trekking with endangered mountain gorillas in the misty forests of Bwindi, to chimpanzee tracking in Kibale, and witnessing the Big Five on safari in Queen Elizabeth and Murchison Falls National Parks.

The launch comes at a time of growing global interest in sustainable and experience-based travel. With its extraordinary great ape populations, lush national parks, and cultural richness, Uganda is rapidly emerging as one of Africa’s most desirable adventure and eco-tourism destinations.

Flights will operate on a state-of-the-art Airbus A330-800neo, offering business (20 seats), premium economy (28 seats) and economy (210 seats) class cabins tailored for comfort on long-haul journeys. London Gatwick to Entebbe: Sunday 1905, Tuesday 0940, Wednesday 0950 and Friday 1240, arriving at Entebbe at 0635 (following day) 2110, 2120, and 0010 (following day) respectively.
