What’s your favourite thing about this time of year?
I think Christmas brings out our inner child, it’s such a cosy, nostalgic time. Now I’m a Mum it makes me think of all the magical things I did with my parents when I was a kid and I try to emulate those with my own children.
Do you have any fond memories of working in a show at Christmas?
If so, how do you prepare to get into the holiday spirit for a seasonal production? Normally at this time of year I am in rehearsals for a Christmas pantomime, or musical. So that process for me has become so intrinsically linked with being festive. I love being in a company, taking part in Christmas jumper day, secret Santa, sparkly gala evenings. It’s such a fun time where everyone’s up for a good time!
What’s your go to Christmas theatre show/film to watch?
Our favourite Christmas movie in our house now is Elf as it’s so laugh out loud funny. But when I was a kid it was Santa Clause - the movie, when Santa arrives at the North Pole and sees all the toys that the elves are making. I can picture every bearded elf, painting the toys with the end of their beards like an paintbrush and the music, just so classic.
What does your perfect festive day in London look like?
Wrapping up cosy & warm, finding a yummy hot chocolate and going for a walk around hunting for beautiful Christmas trees. We love ice skating too, so bonus points for an ice rink!
As we look towards 2025, what are you most looking forward to?
Continued good health & happiness for my husband & children, and it’s my 40th birthday next year so I’m looking forward to having a good night of dancing with lots of my friends.
