London eye care company announces major expansion to team

The private eye care group OCL Vision has announced three strategic new hires to expand its clinical team as demand for specialist eye care and aesthetic treatments in the capital continues to soar.

Mr. Mohammad Dehabadi

The appointments include Mohammad Dehabadi, Dr. Atena Shirafkan, and Emil Kurniawan, each bringing their expertise to strengthen the company’s services.

Mr Dehabadi, a consultant oculoplastic surgeon, joins OCL Vision with a background in cataract, functional, and cosmetic oculoplastic surgery. A graduate of Cambridge University and University College London, with a Master’s in Medical Education, he is known within the global ophthalmic community, sharing insights with over 50,000 social media followers.

“I’m really excited to be joining this fantastic team in delivering first-class eye care, and now also aesthetics, to our patients,” he said.

The company is also introducing its first aesthetic treatments consultant, Dr. Atena Shirafkan. A London-trained facial injector and dentist with over a decade of experience, Shirafkan specialises in non-surgical facial rejuvenation, including anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers, and mini-thread facelifts.

“The injectables market is the Wild West of the medical world,” said Dr. Shirafkan. “Patients are looking for qualified doctors who can put their minds at ease and deliver polished, natural results.”

To strengthen its corneal clinic, OCL Vision has welcomed Emil Kurniawan, a consultant corneal and refractive surgeon from London’s Royal Free Hospital and Moorfields Eye Hospital. With expertise in managing complex corneal cases, Mr Kurniawan said he was “thrilled” to join the OCL Vision team and help deliver world-class care.

OCL Vision CEO Nik Rudge noted that the new appointments reflect the company’s efforts to meet growing patient demand.

“As demand continues to grow, we are investing further in our greatest asset — our incredible team,” said Mr Rudge. “We’re excited and proud to attract more outstanding clinical talent to our award-winning roster, ensuring that we continue to offer the latest treatments and the best possible outcomes for our patients.”

With purpose-designed clinics in London and Elstree, OCL Vision is England’s largest surgeon-owned private eye care group, offering a range of treatments from cataract surgery to retinal therapy and cosmetic eyelid procedures.
