The premiere took place at the Royal Festival Hall and took the Scouts on a breathtaking journey showing there is nowhere more vital for our survival, more full of life, wonder, or surprise, than the ocean. In the film the celebrated broadcaster and filmmaker reveals how his lifetime has coincided with the great age of ocean discovery.

Scouts gives young people and adult volunteers the opportunity to have unique adventures and gain skills for life.

Oscar Thorp aged 8 said “I’ve been learning about our Oceans at school and having the chance to see the film before anyone else was epic. Being a Cub Scout has given me so many amazing opportunities.”

Ruya Necati aged 11 said “It was such an amazing experience and educational, bringing the planet’s Ocean challenges to life”

Scout Volunteer and Teacher at Latymer All Saints School Enfield Jenny Thorp said “Scouts is all about helping young people gain skills for life. As a Science Coordinator I know how important protecting our planet is and this film really brings that message to life”

Sir David Attenborough said “Over the last hundred years, scientists and explorers have revealed remarkable new species, epic migrations and dazzling, complex ecosystems beyond anything I could have imagined as a young man. In this film, we share some of those wonderful discoveries, uncover why our ocean is in such poor health, and, perhaps most importantly, show how it can be restored to health. This could be the moment of change.”
