The event saw 175 students from across the London Boroughs perform a number of routines including instrumental, vocals, choreographed dance routines and martial arts demonstrations in front of an audience of 800 plus, and raised just over £5,000 for the Manju Shahul-Hameed Foundation for mental health.
A number of high profile individuals were in attendance including the elected Mayor of Croydon Jason Perry, the Civic Mayor for Croydon Cllr Kola Agboola, Deputy Lieutenant for Croydon Colonel Ray Wilkinson DL, High Sheriff of Greater London Millicent Grant KC and former (twice) Mayor of Croydon Toni Letts OBE.
Platinum Champion Lord Brett McLean addressed the audience with an inspirational speech about positivity promoting good will and harmony in keeping with the theme of the event to "Love Not Hate."
Lord Brett said " The Young Stars of London and in particular Croydon provided an excellent event, their passion, drive and enthusiasm really shined, the 175 student performer's were excellent ambassadors for London, they shined like beacons of hope and positivity sending a clear message to Love and not hate.
