Children's charity unveils powerful mural to shine a light on child poverty in London

The Stage, Shoreditch welcomes a powerful new mural which shines a light on child poverty in London in partnership with The Childhood Trust.

Mural

As part of The Childhood Trust’s #BringTheirArtToLife campaign, the charity has unveiled a series of children's drawings at a public art wall in East London’s The Stage. The mural, which will be up until May 23, aims to raise awareness of child poverty in the city, as well as vital funds to support a variety of summer activity programmes for children, including youth clubs, sports centres, and safe places to play.

The featured drawings were created by children from The Winchester Project and Westminster House Youth Club, both of which are supported by The Childhood Trust. The artwork includes depictions of swimming, drama, and playing outside – such simple pleasures that should be accessible to all of London’s children in the summer.

The mural was brought to life by the talented artists at Global Street Art, Europe’s leading mural-painting organisation, with their world-famous work found across London.

All funds raised will go to The Childhood Trust, who provide funding for over 130 children’s charities across London. Visitors are invited to scan a QR code on the mural, allowing them to donate directly and help bring these children’s drawings to life this summer.

Every contribution will help to ensure that vulnerable children can access essential activities to keep them safe, fed and having fun during the school holidays.
