Reignite Unity: Love Music Hate Racism returns to Luton

I’m delighted to announce the relaunch of Love Music Hate Racism (LMHR) Luton, an event dedicated to standing up against hatred and fostering solidarity through the universal language of music.

Luton has always been a shining example of cultural diversity—a town where people from all walks of life come together to create a vibrant and united community. Yet, like so many places across the UK, our town has been touched by the troubling resurgence of far-right extremism and hostility. In such times, it’s crucial to reaffirm the power of unity, the strength of diversity, and the joy that comes from celebrating what makes us unique—together.

That’s why I’m delighted to announce the relaunch of Love Music Hate Racism (LMHR) Luton, an event dedicated to standing up against hatred and fostering solidarity through the universal language of music.

Join us on Saturday, 30th November, at the Celtic Club, Chobham Street, from 1pm to 8pm, for a day of music, art, and community spirit.

This isn’t just a concert; it’s a powerful statement. Whether you’re an artist, activist, or simply someone passionate about our community, this event is about showing the world that we stand together against racism and intolerance. Music connects us all, breaking down barriers and celebrating our shared humanity.

The day promises an incredible line up, beginning with our compère, DJ Staxx from Radio, and featuring performances from:

Mazzy Dee Elena & Kevin Ethan, HSU Roger Huxley, Tariq Khamis, Daniel Maguire, Lilith May (poet), Workers Rising Ryan, Prazer Lizzi, Bee Grae, J Wall & Los Chicos Muertos and, concluding with Luton’s very own Irish band, the brilliant Missing the Ferry.

Beyond the music, we’ll have information stalls, refreshments (tea and coffee available for a small donation), and a fully stocked bar. It’s a chance to meet like-minded individuals, learn more about how you can make a difference, and celebrate our shared values as a community.

To everyone who has already supported the relaunch—whether through donations, time, or enthusiasm—thank you! But there’s still much to do, and we need your help to make this event a success. Spread the word, join us on the day, and be part of this incredible movement. This isn’t just one event—there are more planned for 2025, and we need your help to make them happen.

Visit our Facebook page for all the latest information: facebook.com/LMHR Luton. We’re also raising funds to support future events. If you’d like to contribute, you can donate on the day or through our crowd funder campaign: crowdfunder.co.uk/p/love-music-hate-racism-luton-relaunch.

Together, we can counter hate with hope, division with harmony, and fear with friendship. Let’s show the world that Luton is proud, united, and stronger together.

See you on the 30th of November!
