Join us in raising awareness and voicing your opposition to the Children's Wellbeing and Schools Bill.
This legislation proposes to restrict academy’s freedoms, give local authorities the power to override parental decisions regarding home education - even if they deem the education suitable - if they decide it is not in the child’s ‘best interests’, putting children at higher risk and serves only to gather data with no data security measures when combined with the Data (Use and Access) Bill.
We believe that prioritising the well-being of our children is essential for their success in school and in life. This bill moves us in the wrong direction and may prevent us from safeguarding our own children from harm in schools.
"The bill represents an unprecedented intrusion into family life. While framed as a child protection measure, it expands state power at the expense of families, paving the way for a dangerous system of government surveillance, forced schooling, and punitive measures against parents,"says Sasha Jackson of The Home Ed Daily.

Why We're Here: Our children deserve a learning environment that nurtures their emotional, social, and academic growth. The Children's Wellbeing and Schools Bill undermines parents' responsibilities for Section 7 of the Education Act 1996 to oversee that this is the case. This rally is a chance for parents, educators, students, and community members to come together and demonstrate the widespread opposition to this damaging legislation.
