Flooring Superstore has invested £150,000 in the new 3,800 square foot store at Trade City, on the northern edge of Manchester city centre.
The store, which opened on Saturday 3rd May and has created three new jobs, is the fourth to open in 2025 following other launches in Bishop Auckland, Cannock and Burton, and the 48th nationally.
It forms part of an expansion programme being carried out by Flooring Superstore, which started life on a purely ecommerce platform in 2012.
Manchester Trade City was acquired by Kier Property in 2022, and the new grade A trade/ industrial development was completed, following over £22.5 million of investment. This is the third unit which Flooring Superstore and Kier Property have partnered on.
Flooring Superstore Managing Director Dan Foskett said: “Manchester has been a target for some time, but we were waiting for the right location. Its proximity off the A665 opposite the Fort Shopping Park and Cheetham Hill Retail Park means the store will generate great footfall and we couldn’t have picked a better one to introduce Flooring Superstore to the people of Manchester and beyond.”
Visitors to the store will have access to a wide range of quality flooring such as carpets, vinyl, laminate, real wood, luxury vinyl tiles, ceramic tiles, decking and the UK’s largest selection of artificial grass.
Dan added: “We offer a unique experience when it comes to buying flooring, not only because we can offer everything under one roof but also because we offer a service that is unrivalled in the flooring industry.
“It’s exciting times for Flooring Superstore as we further widen our reach across the UK, with more store openings planned throughout the rest of 2025.”
Leigh Thomas, Group Managing Director for Kier Property commented: “We are excited to welcome Flooring Superstore to Trade City Manchester, marking our third letting with them and reflecting the strong relationship we have built.
“This partnership underlines Kier Property’s commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable industrial developments that meet the needs of occupiers. As part of our continued growth, we have delivered over 50 projects across the UK, totalling 6.7 million sq ft, and are progressing further developments in key locations.”
In just 13 years Flooring Superstore has grown from purely being an online retailer to becoming one of the leading flooring retailers in the UK, with outlets stretching from Glasgow in the north, to Plymouth in the south and from Norwich in the east to Swansea in the west. It also remains the leading online flooring retailer in the UK.
