Northern Law Firm Recognises Blooming Talent as Trainee Solicitors Qualify

A Manchester-based law firm recently celebrated the achievements of two of its trainees after they qualified as fully-fledged solicitors.

(L-R) Newly qualified Solicitors Min Htae and Momil Malik.

Momil Malik and Min Htae, both 27, completed their legal training contracts at  Veritas Solicitors.

These contracts are a compulsory step to becoming a qualified solicitor, where trainees put into practice what they have learned during academic study.

Momil highlighted how it felt to have completed the training: “It’s a real sense of accomplishment, and all of the hard work, long hours, and challenges during my training have definitely paid off”, she said.

“I am proud of what I have achieved so far and excited about the future.”

Min added: “This is the journey I have embarked on since I was 17. I am elated to see the conclusion of this chapter and am looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead in my professional career.”

Following the completion of his undergraduate degree at Newcastle University, Min went on to complete a postgraduate qualification at the University of Law in Liverpool.

Momil also studied at the University of Law, gaining an LPC along with a master’s after attaining a bachelor’s degree at Manchester Metropolitan University.

“I have known I wanted to go into law since high school, even before I started my GCSEs. I was always fascinated by the law and how it governs society,” she said.

“The idea of advocating for people and fighting for justice really inspired me, and I knew that law was the path I wanted to pursue.”

Min, who made up his mind to become a solicitor in his second year of university, expressed his gratitude for the help and support offered by Veritas during this period.

He said: “The guidance I have received from them throughout my training has been nothing short of amazing and I am very proud to be working at a very inclusive firm who champion diversity and people’s unique strengths.

Momil added: “Veritas has been a place where I have grown both professionally and personally. The firm gave me the opportunity to handle real cases early on, and I felt well-supported by my colleagues and mentors throughout my training.

The LPC is typically a course of two years in which aspiring solicitors undertake practical learning at a law firm and provides a solid foundation for working in the legal sector.

The trainees learn core practice areas and skills during the first stage, and the second stage is comprised of three vocational electives.

Managing Director at Veritas Solicitors Faraz Fazal offered warm congratulations to the graduates.

“It has been wonderful to onboard exciting new talent and watch them progress and thrive throughout their training,” he said.

“At Veritas, we keep our eyes on the future as well as the present to ensure the continued growth and high standards of our team.

“The next generation of solicitors have so much to offer with their knowledge and modern skillset, and I am excited to see what they will contribute going forward.”
