Care UK’s Cranford Grange, on Hall Lane, in the conservation village of Mobberley has been shortlisted in the ‘Best Nursing Care’ and ‘Best Care Home Development’ categories at the 2025 Care Home Awards which celebrate excellence and innovation in care home management.
The shortlisting comes following Cranford Grange’s recent £3.3 million refurbishment. The year-long renovation was completed in January, while ensuring the continuity of outstanding person-centred care. To best accommodate the residents, the home’s internal spaces were reconfigured to create modern, safe, and personalised areas that meet both residents and team member’s needs.
These changes included the addition of a new bistro and bar, a Solace Room for end-of-life care, updated relaxation zones, private dining areas, and other features that enhance both comfort and well-being for the residents. The renovation was carefully planned with minimal disruption, keeping residents, their families, and the team informed of progress every step of the way.
The shortlisting is also a reflection of the home’s ambition to continue evolving, with plans underway that include welcoming local charities and community groups to the home. The team are also working towards accreditation with the Gold Standard Framework for end-of-life care.
In the ‘Best for Nursing Care’ category, Cranford Grange was shortlisted for its person-centred approach to nursing and end-of-life care. The skilled nursing team ensures that each resident receives care tailored to their individual preferences and needs. The home’s approach to end-of-life care was highlighted by judges, with a focus on providing a comforting environment. The home’s Solace Room, for example, offers a peaceful space for families, while the team incorporates complementary therapies and personalised care plans.
Judges recognised how residents and their families consistently praise Cranford Grange for its warm, community-focused environment. One resident said, “The friendliness, help and security you feel by living here, is great. Everyone is always laughing, and the team always want to put you at ease. It’s a pleasure to be with them.”
A relative also commented: “We know my parents are being well cared for, so that peace of mind is extremely welcome.”
Lisa Burrows, General Manager at Cranford Grange, said: “We’re thrilled to have been shortlisted in the ‘Best Nursing Care’ and ‘Best Care Home Development’ at the Care Home Awards, and are delighted to have been recognised nationally for our beautiful home which has recently undergone a fantastic renovation.
“This recognition reflects the dedication and hard work of our entire team, who continuously strive to provide the highest level of care to our residents. Our nurses are experts in their field having specialised knowledge of palliative care and modern research-based treatments and technology.

“We’re all keeping our fingers crossed for a win later this year!”
The winners will be announced on 16th May 2025 at Royal Garden Hotel, Kensington.
