The Manchester date follows the release of their new single Restless, which came out on 17th April. The track, produced by Stevie Knight and mixed by James Paul Wisner (Paramore, Underoath), explores themes of self-doubt and frustration, set to a backdrop of powerful guitar hooks and sharp production.
Lead vocalist Jono Mata says the song reflects “the tension of wanting to do better but struggling to get yourself together enough to really show up for the people who matter.”
Sly Withers — made up of Jono Mata, Sam Blitvich, Shea Moriarty, and Fraser Cringle — have built a loyal following in their native Australia with two ARIA Top 10 albums, several triple j Hottest 100 entries, and sold-out tours. Now, they’re aiming to bring that momentum to UK audiences.
Their Manchester show will be one of their more intimate UK stops, offering local fans a chance to see the band up close before they head to Brighton for multiple performances at The Great Escape Festival.
Sly Withers play The Deaf Institute on Grosvenor Street on Tuesday 7th May.
