Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of our primary phase community, the event not only brought joy and excitement but also made a meaningful difference to a very special cause.
On Friday 25 April, Primary students arrived at school dressed in their cosiest pyjamas, trading in their uniforms for a day of comfort and compassion. The initiative was the brainchild of Year 13 student Gracie Atkins, who aspires to become a children’s nurse. As part of her Health and Social Care course, Gracie researched the vital work carried out by Children with Cancer UK—a charity dedicated to funding life-saving research, supporting families during hospital stays, and bringing moments of happiness to young patients undergoing cancer treatment.
By wearing pyjamas, our students helped raise awareness of the many children who spend long nights in hospital as part of their journey through illness. The event served as a simple yet powerful symbol of solidarity with those young patients and their families.
Primary Vice Principal, Mr Fisher shared, “Gracie has modelled our HPL value of ‘Concerned for Society’ brilliantly for all the primary phase students, their increased awareness of the challenges some children face and their involvement in making a difference has been fantastic to see and be part of.”
A heartfelt thank you goes to everyone who took part and donated. Your kindness and generosity have made a real difference—and we are incredibly proud of what has been achieved together.
Well done once again to Gracie for her initiative, compassion and drive in making Pyjamarama such a success.
