The deal comes at a time of ongoing resilience in the Midlands retail and leisure market. Innes England’s 2025 Market Insite report highlights how national operators continue to show confidence in the region, particularly in Nottingham, where the food, beverage and leisure sectors remain highly active across high street, out-of-town and drive thru formats.
Greggs has taken one of two newly-created units following the subdivision of the former Poundstretcher store. The remaining unit was let to Superdrug, helping to further boost the retail offering at the popular site.
This latest deal follows a string of recent Greggs openings across Nottinghamshire in which Innes England has played a key role, including sites in Carlton, Wilford Lane, and Arnold.
Sam Hall, associate director at Innes England, said: “Greggs continues to be one of the most active and recognisable names on the high street and in retail park settings. This site at Chilwell Retail Park highlights the brand’s diverse property requirements, whether that’s drive thrus, drive tos or strong high street locations.
“The deal also reflects wider shifts in consumer spending habits, with strong demand for convenient, grab-and-go formats. We’re pleased to have supported Greggs once again in expanding its network and look forward to seeing this new location thrive.”
Gillian Long, retail operations director for Greggs, said: “Our new shop in Chilwell Retail Park has brought 14 new jobs to the local area, as well as providing customers with a modern, convenient new place to experience their Greggs favourites.”
Greggs continues to seek new opportunities across the Midlands as part of its ongoing expansion. Innes England supports occupiers in adapting to changing consumer behaviours and making informed property decisions, and agents with suitable sites are encouraged to contact Sam Hall.
