Featuring a fresher, more modern design, the makeover has seen the pub undergo a complete transformation.
A revamped bar, stylish soft furnishings, enlarged dining space and refreshed patio area are some of the recent changes that have been made to provide guests with a relaxed and welcoming environment to enjoy their visit.
Serving up great quality food, The Punch Bowl offers a great value fixed price menu with three courses available for £11.99 from 12pm – 5pm, Monday – Friday and £15.29 after 5pm, Monday – Friday.
But that’s not all — the pub has updated its menu to include a wide range of new, delicious dishes, including Grilled Seabass Fillets, Maple Glazed Belly Pork and Fisherman’s Catch. There is also a fixed price Sunday lunch menu with up to three courses available, including the classic pub roast, with guests able to add a three sides bundle of Cauliflower Cheese, Stuffing Wrapped in Bacon and Yorkshire Puddings for only £6.49.
The Punch Bowl also holds a Wednesday Curry Night with all your favourite curry dishes from 5pm. Guests can begin the evening with a starter of either Gunpowder Potato Samosas or Tandoori Chicken for just £2.49. Or they can enjoy any two Curry Night starters or sides for just £4.50, including delicious sides of Tarka Dahl, Onion Bhajis and Bombay Potatoes. There is also a selection of main curry dishes to choose from including the tender-cooked Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Jalfrezi, or the vegan Roasted Cauliflower Dopiaza for £11.79.
The Punch Bowl also hosts a Steak Night every Thursday from 5pm where guests can enjoy two 8oz Rump Steaks from £18.90. Every steak served is tender, expertly aged for depth of flavour and served with seasoned chips, grilled tomato, a flat mushroom, garden peas and crispy onion fries. Guests can choose to upgrade their steak to a prime-cut 8oz Sirloin for an extra £2 or even add their choice of peppercorn sauce or beef dripping gravy.
In addition to the updated food menu Asahi lager and Thatcher's Cider are also being introduced. These crisp, refreshing drinks are the perfect addition to any meal and are just one of the many drinks available from The Punch Bowl's well-stocked bar along with signature cocktails including the Ember Inns favourite Pink Paloma, and red and white wines including 19 Crimes and Cooper’s Select Blend. The pub also has a range selection of premium lagers available with 3 cask ales on tap and is a part of CAMRA, the campaign for real ale.
The pub also hosts a Fizz weekend every Friday and Saturday from 5pm where guests can enjoy a bottle of sparkling wine from £15. For wine lovers the Punch Bowl holds a wine club offer on Thursdays and Sundays from 5pm where guests can enjoy a bottle of wine from £13.49.

The Punch Bowl’s reopening coincides with the anniversaries of 4 members of staff. head chef Aaron Eaton has been a part of the Ember Inns team for 17 years. While team member Hollie Topham and supervisor Charlotte Simpson have been at the Punch Bowl for 4 years and team member Gemma George has been there for 6. Their contribution to both the Punch Bowl and Ember Inns has been integral to the pub’s continued success.
