Nottingham mental health & neurodiversity clinic celebrates a transformative first year

Purple House Clinic Nottingham is celebrating an extraordinary first year of growth, innovation, and positive impact on the local community. Launched just a year ago, the clinic has gone from strength to strength, now boasting a team of over 20 specialist associates and handling more than 100 appointments per month, a testament to its consistent month-on-month growth.

Under the leadership of Dr Elizabeth Lee, Clinical Director, the clinic has established itself as a trusted hub for mental health and neurodevelopmental services in Nottingham and across the East Midlands. She has built a multidisciplinary team of highly qualified and experienced psychologists, providing a range of therapy and specialist assessment services, with specialisms in occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, psychology, and psychotherapy. Together, they all bring extensive backgrounds and a shared commitment to quality care.

“I’m incredibly proud of the team we’ve built,” said Elizabeth. “Their skill set, values, work ethic, and wide-ranging experience make this clinic what it is. We’re delivering exceptional assessments and therapeutic services that have already made a meaningful difference to hundreds of individuals and families. We have seen a real increase in private referrals, often word of mouth, as well as referrals from organisations, such as solicitors, insurers, schools and employers, which reflects the community’s trust in the clinic’s services.”

Over the past year, Purple House Clinic has significantly expanded its therapy and neurodevelopment services. Demand for ADHD, ASD, cognitive, and bespoke assessments has surged, alongside post-diagnostic work. The clinic’s holistic approach includes not only assessments but also tailored support in collaboration with schools and workplaces, ensuring clients receive end-to-end care.

The clinic has also focused heavily on workplace wellbeing over the past three months, helping organisations take proactive steps to safeguard employee mental health. The addition of an occupational therapist with specialist qualifications in workplace wellbeing underscores the clinic’s commitment to preventive mental health care.

Looking ahead, Elizabeth plans to expand to 30 associates by year-end and continue developing new services. Notable upcoming initiatives include the September launch of the ‘Circle of Security’ parenting group for parents of young children and the introduction of services for both children and young adults with intellectual disabilities, led by associate Dr Hudson, who is also Assistant Professor in Clinical Psychology at the University of Nottingham.

Reflecting on the past year with gratitude and excitement, Elizabeth adds: “It’s been a whirlwind, but I’m enjoying every minute. We’ve received wonderful feedback from clients, and I truly believe we’ve made a positive impact in our community. There’s still so much we want to achieve. Our focus remains on consolidating our achievements, expanding the services, and deepening our commitment to workplace wellbeing, ensuring even greater support for the local people of Nottingham and the East Midlands.”
